Happy Festivus and Winter Carnival!

I was asked a very logical question last week about, "What do Jews do on Christmas?"

At first I laughed since this is one holiday that many of us actually follow the "stereotype." Since moving to Arizona, we have not made too many connections with new friends but back in New Jersey, we had friends who were Non-Jews and if they invited us to come and celebrate with them, we would. I mean of course we didn't eat the Ham but we would usually stop on by around dessert.

So to post the question again, "What do we do on Christmas?"

What do you think we do? We go out to eat some Chinese food and see a movie. Though last year, the Chinese food place we went to was closed and we ended up at a Mexican place, we USUALLY eat Chinese food so we will have to make sure to find a place that will be open tomorrow.

Don't know what movie we are going to see yet, possibly that Nicholas Cage one, the Treasure something? If you know me on a personal level, I am not a movie buff but my husband is.

HAPPY FESTIVUS and WINTER CARNIVAL!

Published Magazine Article!!!

Since I didn't come from a magazine writing background, I don't have published clips to share from magazines. Many of the writings I have done is for the Web or ghostwritten.

Well FINALLY I can say I have my first published magazine article! It will be coming out on Jan. 2, 2008 about The Tostitos Fiesta Bowl being held in Glendale, AZ at the University of Phoenix Stadium. The magazine is called Inside The Gate. Once the final copy is approved, I will post and share this very exciting moment.

My second article will be about The Super Bowl and still waiting on a launch date of the second issue. Obviously it will be prior to The Super Bowl which is also being played here in Arizona.

Maybe I have some sports magazine writing in my future? This would be awesome since I am a fairly large sports fanatic!

I have a by-line, a picture and even an author blurb!

Come back and read my article on Jan. 2!

JV - Taking What I Learned From Si

So I came back from Si's AdWords workshop in San Jose a little over a month ago and got right to work. I asked Matt from MJE Sales, LLC for some help to get a site of mine finally up, www.PhDGirl.com. Matt, you're awesome! I began sharing ideas of mine with some of my clients and then mentioned my new FAVORITE word that I learned at Si's from Rod Beckwith, "JV!"

I never realized that these two letters had such a powerful meaning. JV stands for Joint Venture. So I am happy to say, one month after Si's workshop, I am in a JV with my husband and two other partners. It is quite exciting and we are hoping to launch the site in Jan.

I am not quite ready to give away what our site will be but very excited to be very hands on and involved in the progression of my first ever JV adventure and def. come back to read about our progress.
